Kia ora Waitetuna whaanau,
It has certainly been great to have all the children back at school after the surprise announcement on Monday. Some students have taken the return in their stride and some of course will need additional settling back in. The unpredictability of these times certainly increases children’s emotions and can make them tired but it will be so great to be together for the last four weeks of the year.
We are working on putting together new dates and plans for some events that can still go ahead. Under level 2 restrictions these events won’t look like they have in other years. However, our goal is to ensure they do go ahead and we get to enjoy these special events. I will get further dates and details out next week.
There is obviously lots of discussion around the vaccine mandate and traffic light system and the implications for schools. I will be sharing information on this with you as soon as I can.
Our Waitetuna Way this week goes to - Kyle Nixon for Gratitude for being open and honest with yourself and others.
Phil Shea has sent me through the Ag Day results. I will present these early next week. We will try and live stream this for parents.
Thank you for complying with the covid-19 expectations for parents if you need to come on to the school grounds.
Swimming pool keys will be available for purchase in the last week of term. Keys will be available at a reduced price - $50. A decision on use for term 1 will be made at the end of the school holidays, depending on covid levels and traffic light system.
Friday lunches - under level 2 we will be able to have Friday lunches.
Next Friday 26th November - Cheeseburgers
Friday 10th December - American hotdogs
- There will be gluten free and vegetarian options available on both days
Remember full-brimmed hats, drink bottles and togs/towel.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend under level 2.
Ngaa mihi,
Amanda and staff.
