Another active summer term comes to an end as we plunge into the daylight savings switch. Highlights this term have been participating in and winning Best Raft at the Maui Dolphin Day Raft Race (and the awesome teamwork in action), our student teams incredible performance in the Inter-School Swimming Sports, team building and leadership day in Hamilton with Sports Waikato, the amazing personal best achievements and community turn out for both our school Triathlon and school Swimming Sports. All these things could not be achieved at this high standard without our awesome team of teachers! Senior Camp last week we had an incredible Senior Camp.. And a huge thank you to Whaea Ali who planned and organised another amazing school camp!!

Farewell to Mariella Our term ends with Mariella Brunton’s farewell, after 4 years of working at Waitetuna School. Mariella has been a dedicated and passionate teacher that always goes the extra mile. Mariella has touched everyone’s hearts and played a vital role in our new students settling into Waitetuna School. You will be greatly missed Mariella and we wish you all the best for you and your families future in Vietnam. Thank you to our teacher aide Nik Taylor who has been working at Waitetuna School this Term. Nik has been a positive and supportive member of the staff and we wish her all the best for the future. New Teacher Appointed Our new Junior Room teacher is Oli Ryks. Oli is a talented musician (flutist for the NZ Symphony Orchestra) and an experienced teacher. Congratulations Oli, we are looking forward to you joining our team. Reminder: The School Pool is closing on the last day of term one. Please return your keys to the school office with your bank account number. The court will be re-surfaced during the school holidays so please remind children to stay off the court until it is completed.

Board of Trustees Elections dates 2019 Board of Trustees There are 4 parent trustee’s positions to be filled on the Board for the up-coming election. It is an opportunity to have an input into the governance of the school and play an important role in the on-going development and success of our school. Jennie Vickers is our School Returning Officer for the 2019 BoT tri-annual elections. If you have any queries about the election, please email office@waitetuna.school .nz.
