Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, thank you Waitetuna School for helping us make the Inter School Cross Country event a success. A big shout out to the Macdonalds for the use of their farm, James Lambie from Property Brokers for supplying and cooking the sausages. Thanks to Orca for always supporting our school at these events and to Irene from Circus Aotearoa. Irene has a space in her Circus lessons if your child is interested. Thanks again to all parents and supporters of the school for helping to ensure the day ran smoothly and we had enough people in the food tent. You rock!
Thanks to Tania from Timebank and the community who turned up to the pruning workshop on Sunday. More pruning is needed if you are able to practice your skills.
Speeches update—if your child gets first place in their class speech competition they will get to compete at Te Uku on the 3rd Sept if they are Year 5 and 6 or at Rotokauri School on the 2nd Sept if they are Year 7 and 8. This is the biannual organisation for speeches. The Rotokauri event is the regional final for Year 7 and 8. If they place 1st at this event they can go through to the Waikato cluster final at Ohaupo School. Children will present their speech in class first in a couple of weeks.
Book Week in Week 5—the Scholastic Book Fair send us through a large range of books which we set up in the multi-purpose room for purchase. You are welcome to come along before school and after school to make purchases on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and Friday morning. Great birthday presents and get in early with your Christmas present organisation. They are packed up on Friday afternoon. Children will view the books on Tues-day this year as we have a Teacher Only Day on Monday. They will share with you some titles they like.
Have a lovely weekend. Ngaa mihi nui Amanda and staff
