Principal’s Update

Ag Day and Group Day: A Community Triumph!

What an incredible experience we had celebrating our annual Ag Day and bringing Group Day back to Waitetuna! It was a brilliant success, highlighted by the fantastic participation from our students and a great turnout from the wider community and neighbouring schools.

The effort our students put into raising and preparing their animals was clear to see, and they represented our school with pride at both events. The positive feedback we received about the standard of the entries and the students’ knowledge was outstanding. Congratulations to Isla Richards—1st—Champion Calves, Addison Van Weerden—2nd-Reserve Champion Calves and Isabella Berejoni-1st-Champion Lambs, Heidi Hook—2nd– Reserve Champion-Lambs.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make these events run so smoothly. To the parents who set up the arenas, supervised and transported animals, the community judges who gave their time, and to the staff and parent volunteers who spent hours organising, setting up, and cleaning up—your support is what makes our small school community so special. We couldn't do it without you!

Another thank you for supporting us with our strike yesterday. As you have seen on the news a range of sectors came together to send a clear message to the government that there are aspects of our jobs that need to be addressed to support the learning and care of students and hospital patients. We really do appreciate your support. Many people have stated their support of our strike action yesterday. Much appreciated.

Early warning—Athletics day organisation - start at 11.30am, short lunch from 12.45ish to1.15pm and then we will carry until finished. You are welcome to take your children home. We are not sure of finish time but need to allow time for pack up also. High Jump does take the extra time.

Have a tumeke long weekend. Ngaa mihi nui Amanda and staff
