Waitetuna School had a great morning with the children's Grandparents at the end of last term. The theme was 1960's (when many grandparents were at primary school themselves) and all the teachers made the most of it! The school performed their Kapa Haka with gusto, followed by children demonstrating their skills in traditional games like Hop Scotch, Knuckle Bones, Elastics, Marbles and Skipping. It was fun to see the grandparents joining in! Children shared work they felt proud about and tunefully sang songs to the guitar. The day ended with tea and scones in our new staffroom. A great day all round.
