Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, it has been a very busy week this week. This week has included some PAT testing. Testing included the Listening for Year 3 through to Year 8. The other subjects are Reading Comprehension, Reading Vocabulary, Maths, Science, Punctuation and Grammar and Writing. The Seniors continue to practise their softball skills for the upcoming Inter School softball tournament and the whole school is working on their swimming for the Swimming Sports next Friday.
Swimming Sports Organisation—1.15pm—Junior Room swimming display
1.30pm—Swimming display—Middle and Senior Room who aren’t in the competitive swimming 1.45pm—Swimming races begin
Surf Lifesaving Day—17th March—we have been offered a whole school visit with the Surf lifesaving team for Beach Education. We would really appreciate extra parents for this day. Please look out for the notice that is coming home about this.
Maui Dolphin Day—thanks for your contributions of sweet and savoury baking for our food stall on Saturday 7th starting from 11am. You are able to drop them off on Saturday at the event too. Go Waitetuna! Thanks Travis, PTA and parents for your help with this.
The students were reminded by a visit from a special Maui dolphin on Monday that if they sight a Maui dolphin they should ring 0800 4MAUIS or 0800 DOC HOT.
This week there was lots of Science action with Jelly Science, Curdling Milk—see photos on page 2. House of Science have got the Ministry of Education contract so we have these kits delivered for free.
