Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,
We are excited to welcome all our students and whānau back for Term 2. It's wonderful to see students settling quickly back into their learning routines, refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
This term, our teachers have been planning rich learning experiences connected to the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum. Our focus will be on exploring local stories, particularly reflecting on 150 years of schooling in our district. Students will investigate how schooling has changed over time and consider the experiences of those who were part of our community’s history.
We are looking forward to a term of deep learning, inquiry, and connection with the past, as students build their understanding of how history shapes who we are today.
Anzac Parade—thank you to the whaanau who were available to attend the Anzac service last Friday.
MP for King Country/Taranaki—Barbara Kuriger joined us today. We thank her for making time to come and visit us and hear about the successes and challenges of our small rural school.
Welcome to our new Kapahaka tutor—Tom Lord– yesterday Tom joined us for our first official Kapahaka practise.
Have you done your homework? The Edge app for parents is up and running and many students have already shared their learning through this parent portal. Check it out.
After School Care—reminder—please let us know if you require after school care. We have a duty of care for 15 minutes after school.
