Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, lots of learning about the Olympics and the Solar System this week. A great trip to the Te Awamutu Space Centre. Thanks to all the parents for your help on the trip.
A reminder that learning conferences will be held next week. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for parents, students, and teachers to celebrate learning, discuss academic progress, and set goals. We encourage all parents to attend and actively partici-pate with your child in these important discussions. School finishes at 1.30pm on Wednesday 7th August. There is supervision availa-ble but if you can collect your child we would appreciate that.
Cross country—hay bales—we need some hay bales please for part of the cross country track. There is a jobs list coming out soon. Thanks for the few offers of mince so far. Please keep them coming in.
Reporting to parents—we are exploring changes to how we report student progress to parents. New Reporting Options for Consideration: Digital Reports—one of the options we are exploring for the future—an online platform where parents can access twice yearly, termly or real-time updates on their child’s progress. We value your input on these options and invite you to share your thoughts and preferences. During the learning conferences I will be in the staffroom and will provide more information about each option and collect feedback to guide our decision-making process. Your involvement and feedback are crucial as we strive to enhance our reporting system to better serve our students and families. Please take the time to consider the options and share your perspectives with us during the conferences. Thank you for your continued support and engagement in your child's education. I look forward to seeing you next week and working together to achieve the best outcomes for our students.
Sabbatical/Leave—I am pleased to inform you that the board have granted me leave for the last five weeks of term 3. This is a time for my family, and friends to go to Fiji to celebrate our oldest son’s 21st at my husband’s village. This is a significant milestone and will be huge for the village. I thank the board for granting me this sabbatical for me 5 years as the Principal of Waitetuna School. Robyn will be Acting Principal in my absence.
Thanks for providing your child with a change of clothes.
I hope you have a restful weekend. Ngaa mihi Amanda and staff
