Principal's Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,
ASB Getwise—visited the Senior Room in week 2. ASB GetWise is an exciting financial literacy program designed to teach our students about money management in a fun and engaging way. Through interactive workshops and activities, children learn important skills such as budgeting, saving, and making smart spending choices. This program is a fantastic opportunity to empower our students with the knowledge they need for a financially savvy future. We talked about how to spot scams and how to protect yourself and others. Callum talked through an Acronymn—T.R.A.P—T rust building, Rapid Response, Appeal to emotion, Procedure change. How scammers win people over, the psychology of how scammers behave and what they could do when they contact you. Essential information for all, considering that 3.4 million is scammed out of New Zealanders every week!
What a fantastic day our Year 1 and 2 students had at the Te Uku School Tabloids Day! The event was filled with fun, team-work, and lots of exciting activities. Our students participated with great enthusiasm, showing off their skills and enjoying the
opportunity to connect with peers from other schools. School athletics day organisation—our school athletics is next Wednesday 13th Nov. Students start the activities soon after 11.30am beginning with sprints then rotating around long jump, high jump, shot put and discus. Congratulations to Greg Hill who has completed his teacher refresher course with Whaea Robyn and the Junior Room students. All the very best. Great to have you back in the profession. Planning for 2025—the board, staff and I are planning now for 2025. A reminder to please let us know if there is anything you would like to see included in our annual plan for 2025. Thank you for your support with our Teacher Only Day next Friday. We will be working with the latest new Curriculum release with teachers from Te Mata and Te Akau Schools.
