Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, there has been a determined and focused buzz in each room when I visited during the week. Everyone is making the most of the learning opportunities on offer.
Whaanau Picnic and Teacher Catch-up—we look forward to you all joining us at school next Wednesday at 5pm. Come along with a picnic, catch up with teachers and other families new and old. There will be a sausage sizzle.
Edge reporting—one stop shop—we are working with Edge to have this Student Management System as a place you can go to read notices, have access to reports and to have posts that show a snapshot of your child’s learning, which is linked to other curricu-lum areas. We are still learning, so will share this with you soon. Seesaw will no longer be in use.
Get-Set-Go day– I have heard great things about the Waitetuna School students giving the activities at Horotiu their very best. Thanks to Travis and parents for making this opportunity happen.
Cellphones- As per the government directive, students are not permitted to use cellphones when at school. If a student must bring a phone to school, it must be handed in at the office upon arrival and collected at the end of the day. We appreciate your support with this. The same policy applies at R.A.S—no phones.
Bus reminders—please remember to text Richard, and/or email Lorna if children are not on the bus. The first pick up at 7.50pm in Raglan is working for the two bus runs so thanks for your support with this.
PTA Meeting—the first PTA Meeting for 2025 is Monday 3rd March. You can join by zoom or in per-son at school in our staffroom.
Swimming Sports—our School Swimming sports will start at 1.15pm on Wed 12th March with the Junior Room display. Following on from this, the non-competitive swimmers will do their displays and race their lengths and to finish our competitive swimmers will do their races.
Attendance—You would have heard on the news the big focus on Attendance. We understand that unexpected things can happen, but regular school attendance is crucial for your child's success. Every day in school provides valuable learning opportunities. If your child will be absent, please notify the school office as soon as possible.
Kia pai to ra whakataa, have a great weekend. And see you on Wednesday evening.
