Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,
My husband’s surgery was postponed last week but was able to go ahead on Wednesday successfully. Thanks to the team for covering. He is doing well.
School Photos on Monday morning—a form has gone home now (arrived late) for the sibling photos. It still needs to be filled in even if you have told the office. Sibling photos will be starting from 8.30am.
Surf Lifesaving Day—17th March—permission slips need to be back for this. We are looking forward to this event next Tuesday. Students need their togs, towel, sweat-shirt, hat, large lunch and water bottle and thank you for offering help with this. We do need extra parents to cover the ratios and the event will go ahead even if it is raining.
Science Fun—lots more Science fun this week for the Juniors. The class have been exploring different types of flour and the texture of these, for example comparing plain white flour and wholemeal flour.
Board Meeting—the School Board had their first meeting for the year, this week. A reminder that the board is Sally Ridley, (Chair), Tim Buchanan, Bernice Marshall, Lotovale Iakopo and Ken Boggs. After the success of the first Working Bee during the school holidays the board have selected the 11th April from 10am to have another Working Bee. Put that date in your diary. ‘Many hands make light work!’
We are still waiting on the delivery of the new bikes and helmets for the Pump Track action. We are now being told the beginning of next term unfortunately but when you live in New Zealand sometimes this is unavoidable.
I hope you all have a restful weekend. Kia pai too ra whakataa. Ngaa mihi Amanda
