Newsletter - Week 6, Term 4 2024

Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, thank you for your support of our Teacher Only Day last Friday. We worked with Te Mata and Te Akau Schools learning about the new English and Mathematics Curriculum.

Inter School Athletics—Ali and I took our Athletics team to Bremworth Park in Hamilton today. They certainly did us proud with their amazing competition skills evident and supportive sportsmanship. Thanks for the parent help at Inter School Athletics much appreciated.

Pool Keys for Sale—we're thrilled to announce that our school pool is now open for the summer season! It's a fantastic way for our tamariki to cool off and have some fun in the sun. Thank you Richard for working to make this happen. Pool keys are now available for purchase. They can be bought from the school office for the bargain price of $80. This gives you access to the pool outside of school hours. Please come into the office to sign the pool code of conduct and to receive your key.

A Productive Week of Learning—we've had a fantastic week of learning here at school. Our students have been working hard and showing great enthusiasm and progress in their studies. It's wonderful to see their curiosity and creativity in action! This is particularly evident with our Middle room students preparing for their Market Day event. Technology and entrepreneurship in action. The Market Day has been set for Tuesday 17th Dec starting around 1.30pm. Middle Room students have designed and tested a product to sell. All students can bring money along to purchase an item if they choose too. More information through the student’s advertisements will be out soon.

Disco next Thursday—Next Thursday 28th November is our school disco. Gold coin donation for entry and some food to purchase.

Transition visits for our year 2 and year 5 students—all of our year 2 students will be moving to the Middle Room in 2025 and all of our year 5 students will be moving to the Senior Room in 2025. In week 8 and 9 there will be transition visits for these students so they can have time in their new room, ready for next year.

Final assembly—start time—6pm—just a friendly reminder of our final assembly on Wednesday 18th December in our Multipurpose Room. All Families and students are invited to this. We hope you can all be there. It is always well attended. There is shared kai at the conclusion of the assembly. Please bring along a plate of food to contribute and we will also have a sausage sizzle provide

Well done to Grace for Self Control

Think before you speak (Is it kind, is it nice, is it necessary?)

Manage yourself appropriately in both formal and informal situations

Being adaptable when our plans change

Together we are growing the seeds of success

Na too manaaki, na tooku manaaki, ka puawai mai nga kaakano
