 Principal’s Update

Fun times at Kura Ngaahere—I hold Kura Ngaahere close to my heart. I think it is a wonderful opportunity we offer at Waitetuna School. Last Friday it was held on the school grounds. The Junior Room brought their wet weather gear and had fun getting wet! It celebrates and nurtures Te Whare Tapa Whaa - promoting physical health, mental well-being, emotional intelligence, cognitive development, and environmental stewardship. We know that encouraging children to explore and connect with the natural world from a young age lays the foundation for a lifelong love of nature and a sense of belonging to the broader ecosystem. Ngaa mihi nui Whaea Robyn for making this happen.

The Senior leaders worked with Kim from the Waikato Institute of Sport and Leadership (WILS). The visit from WILS provided a valuable opportunity for our Year 7 and 8 leaders to enhance their skills and knowledge in leadership and sportsmanship. During their visit, the WILS team engaged our young leaders in interactive workshops and activities designed to develop their leadership abilities and foster teamwork. It built on their camp experiences, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and mutual respect both on and off the field.

Wheels Week—it has been a fun week having wheels at school. Thanks for your support with this.

Shout out to Tui garden supplies for their donation of seedling mix, potting mix for growing our seedlings in the spring.

We welcome Jude into the Middle Room.

Raffle Tickets—thanks for the great selling that is happening. Please return any tickets you are unable to sell asap.

The pool will close for the season on Tuesday 2nd April.

Ngaa mihi nui Amanda and staff
