Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,
What a celebration of reading it has been. Thank you for your support with the Book Fair. With everyone’s support we have to spend on books for our classrooms and library. Thanks to the PTA for putting on the great BBQ for our Booknic on Wednesday.
An unforgettable celebration of Book Week, where stories have come to life. Kids imagination knows no bounds and it is exciting to see our students enthusiasm! The Scholastic Book Fair, offered a wide array of books for all ages and interests. Students, parents and teachers alike had the chance to explore new worlds and discover their next favourite read.
On Dress-Up Day, many came dressed as their favourite book character and showed off their costume in style. From The Hobbit and superheroes to classic literary figures character came to life! The highlight of our festivities was an amazing Show which highlighted some fantastic New Zealand pukupuka (books). This Show was paid for with your Activity Fee.
To cap off this exciting week, we were honoured to welcome Laura as a guest speaker – a very adventurous niece of Whaea Robyn came to share her amazing journeys to the South Pole and in the Artic. Her story was inspiring and full of tales. Thank you Laura for coming to share. We had a week full of fun, learning, and a deep dive into the wonderful world of books!
The PTA have a meeting on Monday night, 17th June. This is at school in the staff room or via zoom. We would really appreciate your support as next term our school hosts the Inter School Cross Country, (held on the 22nd August) and we need everyone’s support that day and during the week before. Helping out in anyway possible, is very important. Let me know also if you can’t make it to the meeting but are happy to help out with a job before the Cross Country event or on the day. Remember the PTA raises money to support your child’s learning. Kia pai too ra Whakataa, Have a great weekend. Ngaa mihi Amanda and staff.
