Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,
Another week has come and gone, and I’m not quite sure where it went! In my experience Week 7 is often tough, and lots of us will need a quiet weekend to recover. But now the end is in sight, only 3 weeks until the end of term.
Waitetuna School would like to acknowledge the passing of the Māori King, Kīngi Tūheitia, and the impact that this has had on his whaanau, hapu, iwi and beyond. We also acknowledge the anointing of the new Māori Queen, Kuīni Ngāwai Hono I te Pō Paki and wish her well as she begins her reign.
On Wednesday night Ned Quinn and Charlie Munkenbeck represented the school
at the Year 7 & 8 Interschool Speeches at Rotokauri, and they did us proud. Well done!
We have welcomed Palace into the Junior Room this week—nau mai, haere mai Palace.
We have also farewelled Hannah as a teacher aide from the Middle Room, as she moves
on to a new job in Hamilton. Thanks for all your amazing mahi Hannah, kia kaha!
Nga mihi, Robyn

PTA News
The next PTA meeting is on Monday 16th September. One of the ideas we will be discussing is the possibility of a Quiz Night. If this is something you are interested in or could help with, come along, either in person or via zoom. Watch this space: tamariki have been preparing some calendar art, which can be used not only for calendars but greeting cards and more. Great present ideas for whanau! We will be taking orders from next term.
Together we are growing the seeds of success
Na too manaaki, na tooku manaaki, ka puawai mai nga kaakano
