Principal’s Update
Book Week at Waitetuna School
Well it is clear we love books, we love reading at our kura! The excitement I saw in the students on Monday with the commencement of book week was so good to see. Pukapuka (Books) truly are the treasure. There has been daily high interest activities on to develop the life long love of reading and learning. We thank Liam Dwyer for coming to talk to the students about his journey to becoming an author and sharing his books. Thanks to the PTA for helping to make this week such a successful event and thanks parents for your support all week and coming to the Booknic. We had $1700 in book sales which is awesome. We have also planned a get-together for the end of the term to have a special Matariki shared kai.
The students will have some learning to share. This is a great opportunity to share with us what you see as our successes for the first half of the year. Matariki is a time to reflect. Planning ahead—Learning conferences date—where your child’s teacher, your-self and your child come together to celebrate, review the learning so far this year and then set goals for 2023—Wed 2nd Aug and Thurs 3rd Aug—bookings will be online—more info to come. Have a great weekend.
