Newsletter - Week 9, Term 1 2023

Principal’s Update

Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau,

It’s fun to see the eyes of tamariki light up when they talk about what sparks their interest. Being struck by feelings of passion, awe and wonder is what connects you to wairua. With this comes a sense of interconnectedness that boosts your ability to be present to the world around us. I saw this last week with our Legends Unleashed visiting show. It was fantastic to see our students excited and engrossed in their learning. There was so much to share in this week’s newsletter our Junior Room camp highlights will be in next week’s newsletter.

Science Galore

We have utilised an amazing resource centre called the House of Science—the Seniors were absorbed last week in their experiments around ‘Food for Thought’, Loving Science!!!!

New Playground addition

The base for this is currently under construction. We also have new blinds being installed in the Junior and Middle Room over the holidays.

Board members

We have had two board meetings this term and I thought it was timely to share our current team of parents and community members who provide governance of our school. The team is on page three of this newsletter.

If you connect please take a photo and share with julia@neighboursaotearoa.nz
