Principal’s Update

Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, Yahoo! It was absolutely wonderful being able to go ahead with the kapa haka festival. Our students did themselves proud. Kia kaha tamariki maa! I had so much positive feedback about our performance. A massive thank you to Whaea Robyn who kept the momentum going with our practices and being able to be present at such an event was fantastic. And thank you to everyone who helped in many different ways to ensure our students could perform.

Our School Board—our ‘new’ board meet this week. Sally Ridley (our new Presiding Member), Bevan Marquand (Property/Health and Safety) and Daniel Bateman (Finance) had our first meeting of the new 3 year term. I would like to take the time to thank Sue Court who was our Board Chair (Presiding Member) over the past 3 and half year term (longer than usual because of Covid delays). Sue has been a great advocate for the school and her support and strong governance has been valued. As a beginning Principal (of three years now) she has been supportive and together we have made a great team. There is one casual vacancy on the School Board. Details around how this will be filled was sent to your email.

This week we had a visit from Ray Diprose talking about movie making and the movie competition that the Raglan Arts Centre offer.

Hoops and Scoops donut end of term treat. Next Thursday we have donuts treat to finish the term. Cinnamon Sugar or Vanilla Glaze—Orders must be in by Tuesday at 10am please —Orders can be emailed through or sent to school. You can pay online.

Have a wonderful long weekend. Kia pai too raa whakataa!

Ngaa mihi Amanda and staff
