What the PTA have done to raise funds

Waitetuna Wind Farm Trail Run

We are running this truly unique community event for the 3rd year that we hope to build on in years to come. The event includes three trail lengths, 21km, which will see you pass through some of the Te Uku wind turbines, 10km, and 5 km. Every finisher will receive a stunning medal signifying the local area. This event is held on private farm land, not usually open to the public. The terrain, in places, is tough but also offers stunning views from the top of the 21km track of the Raglan harbour and bar. We are truly grateful to the Ormond family for the opportunity to run through their stunning landscape. All funds raised from this event go to the school. www.waitetunatrailrun.co.nz

Interschools Cross Country

Waitetuna school has become known for laying on a great spread when we host the interschools Cross Country. Each year rain or shine we provide hot food and great baking. We put on a great spread from nachos, burgers, dahl and soup to crumbles, muffins and off course coffee. The parental support with baking, cooking and coffee brewing was brilliant as well as the kind loans of the marquee, equipment and generators.

Christmas Calendars

To end the school year the teachers, students and PTA work together to get calendars of the students art work put together, just in time for Christmas presents. This was a lovely way to wind up fund raising for the year and a good way to share with friends and family a little something of what the students have been doing.

Maui Dolphin Days 2016 and 2017

The school has a long history of providing delicious food at Maui Dolphin day, supporting a great cause whilst raising funds for the school. With heaps of support from parents and teachers selling nachos, pulled pork, baking and barista coffee over those two years have helped get our school wider recognition amongst the wider community and raise funds.

Ag Day and Sausage sizzles

With the wet cold weather continuing the PTA seized the opportunity to help keep everyone warm with a sausage sizzle, some baking, hot chocolate and coffee (for the parents and judges) during our annual Ag day event. This went down a treat and so with a few sausages left in the freezer one of the PTA kindly ran a sausage sizzle for gold coin donation a couple of times over the following months.

2016 Quiz and Auction

Our biggest event for 2016 by far was the Quiz and Auction night.  Auction items were donated by many generous businesses and individuals from around Raglan and the Waikato. The students and teachers worked hard to create works of art that were auctioned off and parents made food. Last but not least the huge community turn out for the night of people willing to have some fun and raise money for the school, meant the quiz night and auction was a massive success. The hard work and community support for this event was amazing and together we raised more than any other fund raising for the school in recent history.
