Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau. Firstly an attendance note—I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone for getting your children to school. Our attendance data has improved slightly during the term and is on track to beat Term 1 last year. Keep up the great effort. Remember we are here to support you with any issues around attendance. Please let myself or your classroom teacher know if we can help.
Surf Lifesaving Day—17th March—we had a great whole school visit with the Surf lifesaving team for our Beach Education on Tuesday. It is always a stunning location to learn how to be safe in the surf and an important part of our Living Curriculum. Thanks for your parent support of this. It was great to see the students in the surf, building their confidence, skills and understandings of the moana.
Tryathlon organisation—on Tuesday of the last week of term we will have our triathlon and so our bike week in the build up starts from next week. Seniors can bring theirs in after camp. Everyone else can bring their bikes in from Monday.
Tryathlon organisation on the day—starts with the Year 7 and 8 students at 1.00pm, followed by the Year 5 and 6 at approx. 1.25pm and Year 3 and 4 next at 1.45pm and Year 1 and 2 at about 2pm.
Garden to Table—it was great to hear about everyone making and trying the Brazilian dish from Whaea Julia’s whanau. And thanks to Tim and the crew for putting the extra raised garden bed in place.
All the best to the Seniors at Camp from Sunday. I plan to join them on Monday. And to our interschool swimmers next week. Well done to our softballers who went to interschool today. Another action packed week!
