Kia Ora Koutou
With the wet winter months, we are all more susceptible to colds and flu. If your child is unwell, please keep them at home until they are well again. This will help prevent the spread of these bugs and keep everyone healthier at school.
School Production
Students that are in the cast for The Lorax are now rehearsing several days a week. Please support them to learn their lines and prompts (ie the character’s lines previous to theirs). Also can all parents please discuss their costumes with their children to help them develop ideas. We will be doing some research and sharing ideas at school in the next two weeks. The holidays are a good time to go exploring and search for their costume. Try Kahu’s Nest at Xtreme Waste, Op shops are great and K Mart is cheap. Early next term we will start putting all the class dances together with the cast and practicing the whole production. Gardening
Jade Penn has been doing a great job of establishing our class gardens with the children this year. If anyone is able to donate any seedlings or small plants (vegetables, herbs or edible flowers) to pop in our gardens, please leave in the school office. In assembly this week, there will be the presentation of a new gardening trophy to the most enthusiastic class for this term and a medal for the Most Valued Gardener (MVG). This trophy and medal have been donated by the Whaingaroa Environment Centre. Middle Room Students Our Middle room students are really keen to build a bamboo whare/hut for the playground with Jade. Does anyone have a source of bamboo that we could harvest? Or someone perhaps willing to cut and deliver to school for us to use for this project. Thank you
